Making it through January always seems like something that needs to be celebrated. The gloomy mornings, drizzly days and short evenings seem like they will never end; but we made it through – hooray!
I feel lucky to live in Cornwall at any time of year, but there’s something magical about the lengthening of light that February brings: there’s nothing better than dashing to the coast to enjoy the final hour of daylight.

Recently I’ve noticed little glimpses of Spring, which fills me with a sense of optimism. Snowdrops add a splash of brightness to morning dog walks and weekend wanderings through the countryside. Even the daffodils are making an appearance, at the side of the road, near where I live. Last weekend, although very cold, brought much-needed sunny spells and the welcoming dose of vitamin D we’ve all been waiting for.
These seasonal changes seem to have brought me a renewed sense of purpose. The old version of my cornishmaidblog has disappeared into the abyss; I stopped paying for the website domain name and focused solely on my career. I miss the creativity and self-satisfaction of writing regularly, therefore I’ve decided to re-create the blog from scratch, to share the little corners of Cornwall I explore.

This lifestyle blog will have a new lease of life, but I’ll still be sharing my favourite things to do in Cornwall: beautiful beaches, stunning coastal walks, activities, attractions, places to eat in Cornwall and much more – all written from the perspective of a true Cornish Maid!
I hope you enjoy reading my Cornwall blog. More posts coming soon!
